SOLTEC Srl new Desafio Español 2007 team's official supplier at 32nd America's Cup Challenger

SOLTEC, leading manufacturer of ultrasonic cleaning equipment SONICA, has become Official Supplier of the America's Cup team Desafio Español 2007

The Managing Director of the Desafio Español 2007 team, Mr. Agustìn Zulueta and the Managing Director of SOLTEC Srl, Mr. Stefano Guidi, on last 5th June 2006, signed an agreement in which SOLTEC Srl is appointed as 'Official Supplier' of the Desafio Espanol 2007 team. Not only SOLTEC will provide the hardware for the process of winch cleaning, but SOLTEC will also offer its technical background and expertise in ultrasonics with an 'on site' technical team at the Desafio Español base.

This is SOLTEC's second experience at the America's Cup, during the 31st edition SOLTEC was OneWorld Challenge Team's Official supplier. SOLTEC supplied an 18lts capacity SONICA 4300EP featuring the most advanced technology available in ultrasonic tanks - 'Sweep System Generator', the winch team was able to clean contaminated components to a vastly improved level.

SONICA ultrasonic cleaners and special detergents have been appointed as an Official ultrasonic cleaners supplier to the OneWorld Challenge Team.
SOLTEC S.r.l., specialized in producing special ultrasonic cleaners, have already provided new technological support to the team by supplying a complete ultrasonic cleaner system to clean the yachts winches systems and all advanced mechanical parts.

The OneWorld Challenge Team will represent the Seattle Yacht Club in the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Series of the for the 31st America's Cup when sailing begins in October of this year in Auckland, New Zealand.
OneWorld was established in May of 2000, shortly after the conclusion of the last America's Cup.
A world-class team of designers, boat builders and sailors was established representing seven countries. The mission: to win the oldest trophy in sports in the name of the health of the World's oceans. The campaign has a multi-media effort underway to draw attention to this important issue that impacts each of our lives and our survival as a species. OneWorld Challenge Team

Jon Williams is responsible for the winch systems of the OneWorld Challenge IACC yachts. He has modified and developed OneWorld's systems into possibly the most advanced of all Harken™ installations in the current fleet. During the 1980's, Jon trained at Poole Technical College in England, and honed his skills welding & fabricating close tolerance components for the Ministry of Defence.
